Shri Jawahar Baxi, a very well known Gujarati poet and "Gazalkar" is going to visit the Baltimore - Washington area next week.
He will speak on Shri Narsinh Mehta on Sunday, September 23rd, from 4 to 6 PM. "Narmad Award" winner Shri Baxi is a very prolific speaker and authority not only on Gujarati Literature but also on philosophy.

It was indeed nice to know that you had organised a get-together with Jawaharbhai Baxi. I had an opportunity to listen to him at Junagadh during my last annual vacation. He is indeed an authority on Narsinh Mehta.
I met one skeptic (Rationalist) who asked me very poignant question. He said if you remove Krishna from Narsinh Mehta's life what will be position of Narsinh? There is a big question on the existence of Krishna himself then what about Narsinh Mehta!
As amatter of fact one Dr Darshna Dholkia has done Ph.D on Narsinh Mehta and according to her there was one pious person named Narsinh Mehta staying in Junagadh , however, all the stories connected with him like Mameru, Harmala etc etc are just stories and nothing more.
Possibly we should ask this question to Jawaharbhai. He should be in position to answer this very important question.
