Michigan Nagar Association

(January 2003 – Issue # 1)

Michigan Chapter committee:

Two meetings of Michigan Chapter had taken place, the first one on October 27th and the next on December 8, 2002. For your benefit, we are highlighting resolutions we have reached and some of the main the tasks; the committee members are working on:

The Michigan Nagar Mandal will now be called “ Michigan Nagar Association ”.

The local Michigan chapter plans to be affiliated with National Nagar Inc.

The goals and objectives of Michigan Nagar Association need to be determined.

The database of Nagar families in Michigan area needs to be updated.

Plan the events for the year 2003.

Determine roles and responsibilities of committee members.

Events in 2002:

First let us provide you with a brief overview of 2002. A Diwali function was scheduled at Ruchi Restaurant in Southfield on November 9^th, 2002. There were over 55 attendees at the function. A brief entertainment program followed lunch.

Proposed events in 2003:

Please mark your calendar for the above dates. As soon as the date for these proposed events is finalized, we will communicate the information to you. We urge everyone to participate in the above functions.

Community updates:

1. Paras and Nishi Kikani are proud parents of a beautiful baby boy Sajan. Congratulations!
2. Neal, son of Vipul and Bina Karia, was successfully operated and is back home with his parents.

The next Michigan Nagar Association. Committee meeting is targeted for February 2^nd, 2003 at Dhimant bhai's home.  Please provide YOUR feedback to any one of us before 2/2/03, and to volunteer for assisting in detailed planning for these events.
