Pratiksha Thaker, a sophomore from Irvine, CA and daughter of Ranjit and Rupal Thaker, has led her team to the qualifying finals in an International Space Settlement Design Competition and is invited to Houston this July. It is a global competition that works in collaboration with both Boeing and NASA. About 90 teams worldwide participated in this competition which required the teams to come up with a proposal for designing, a space settlement for 20,000 people. This includes designing, transportation back and forth from earth, finance required and meeting with food, water and air requirements.
12 international teams were selected as finalists to produce a qualifying proposal for a settlement on the moon. The final competition will be a three day high intensity intellectual exercise that emulates real proposal teams in the industry and will take place at the NASA Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas from July 26 to July 28.
NAGAR wishes her the best in her pursuits.
